Awards for Freya von Moltke:

The Adam Mickiewicz Award for Reconciliation and Collaboration in Europe, 2009

In 2009, Freya von Moltke received the Adam Mickiewicz Award for Reconciliation and Collaboration in Europe. She was honored for her exemplary work during her life, which helped to set standards, "for the realization of the ideals of reconciliation and understanding between the peoples of Europe". Her son, Helmuth Caspar von Moltke, accepted the award on behalf of her. With her the former French resistance fighter and Ambassador, Stéphane Hessel, as well as the founder of the League for the national independence of Poland and adviser to the Solidarność movement, Professor Zdzisław Najder, were also awarded.

The former President of the German Bundestag, Professor Drs.hc Rita Süssmuth, gave the laudation for the Adam Mickiewicz Award 2009.

Since 2006, the Adam Mickiewicz price is awarded together by the President of the Committee for the Promotion of German-French-Polish cooperation ('Weimar Triangle') Prof. Dr.-Heinrich Drs.hcKlaus Standke and the Mayor of the city of Weimar, Stefan Wolf. The first recipients were the founding fathers of the Weimar Triangle, the former Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Roland Dumas, and Krzysztof Skubiszewski.

Honorary doctorate from Dartmouth College, 1999 

On 13 June 1999 Freya von Moltke received an honorary doctorate from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States. She was honored for her work as a writer on topics of the German resistance to the Nazi dictatorship.

Bridge Prize of the city of Görlitz, 1999

On 4 November 1999 Freya von Moltke received the Brücke Preis (Bridge Award). The president of the company "Brücke Preis", Matthias Theodor Vogt explained: "For more than 60 years Freya von Moltke worked on overcoming the Nationsocialist thinking and bringing understanding between people in a Christian spirit."

With the Brücke award the city of Görlitz honors personalities who have made their life's work with achievements in understanding in Europe since 1993.

Award for the Freya von Moltke Foundation:

The Kulturpreis Schlesien of Lower Saxony, 2009

On 24 October 2009, the Kulturpreis Schlesien of Lower Saxony was awarded to the European Foundation for Mutual Understanding and the Freya von Moltke Foundation for the New Kreisau in Braunschweig. The jury awarded this to the former for their international youth exchange projects in Kreisau and the latter for their support of said projects.

The Kulturpreis Schlesien of Lower Saxony has been awarded since 1977. The award is based on the idea of understanding and reconciliation between Germans and Poles. Awarded annually to two outstanding personalities who have rendered culture in Silesia and in addition, a special prize to organizations that lay claim to a special contribution here.

Annemarie Franke, board member of the Kreisau Foundation, and Dr. Agnieszka von Zanthier, Director of the Freya von Moltke Foundation, accepted this year's special price. In her acceptance speech, Agnieszka von Zanthier said: "We, the Freya von Moltke Foundation, are pleased that our Foundation is a part of the civil society and that we are a recognized representative of the New Kreisau that has taken care of it for the last 20 years. Without the many dedicated people in Poland and Germany, the New Kreisau would not exist. "

The award was presented by Uwe Schünemann, the Lower Saxony Minister for Home Affairs, Sports and integration, in the presence of representatives of the Lower Silesia. The laudatio was held by the former State Secretary Reinhard Scheibe.
